The presentation will review findings from Mass Attacks in Public Spaces: 2016–2020 , a five-year analysis of incidents of targeted violence, and provide an in-depth discussion of key behavioral themes identified through NTAC’s decades of targeted violence research. The presentation will highlight the importance of using a proactive behavioral threat assessment approach involving stakeholders from across the community to prevent acts of targeted violence and management strategies to mitigate the risk of mass violence in our communities. This presentation will also provide guidance for law enforcement agencies on developing behavioral threat assessment programs, including a scalable framework for law enforcement and their community partners to prevent incidents of targeted violence.
