Michael Parker serves as a USDOJ ICITAP HQ Strategic Communications Contractor (Amentum). The International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program works to reduce transnational crime and Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) internationally on behalf of the US Dept. of State. Strategic Communications focuses on building public trust and cooperation with police through improving: (1) Social Media (2) News Media (3) Internal police communications (4) Community Engagement. He has presented at over 75 policing conferences such as the IACP, National Sheriffs' Association, Major County Sheriffs of America, COPS Office, Harvard Law School Labor & Worklife program, state and local policing associations, and ICITAP internationally. He has provided training for police and government from 58 different countries and published over 100 policing articles. He retired as a Commander with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, California in 2017 after 32 years of service. He received the “Champions of Change” award from the White House. He serves as the Chair of the IACP IMPACT Section (International Managers of Police Academy and College Training).
