Marcia K. Thompson, Esq.
Marcia has over 25 years of experience working in the criminal justice arena, and the Diverity Equity Inclusion (DEI) space. She started her career at the Department of Justice (DOJ/DEA). During her tenure she was trained in policy review, consensus building, mediation, and civil rights protections in the workplace.
Marcia has served as an HR executive for Amazon, general counsel for the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) and as a subcommittee co-chair for the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Human and Civil Rights Committee providing guidance on a gamut of law enforcement, reform, constitutional, civil rights, legal and DEI matters. She was an Ombudsperson on Capitol Hill and collaborated with HR, legal, and compliance professionals to resolve concerns with policies, process, and procedures.
Marcia has taught analysis of equity concerns and helped create strategies for utilizing data, metrics and benchmarking to increase diversity in the workplace. She has served as a keynote speaker at national conferences on a variety of topics. Marcia is an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice.
