Mr. Pawel T. Frankowski has been a Special Agent with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) since 2007. He started his career in Orlando, Florida, and in the past 16 years he has taken on a variety of assignments including overseas tours in Greece, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. In his latest assignment, he is a Section Chief overseeing HSI's Human Rights Violators and War Crimes Unit (HRVWCU). HSI's HRVWCU leads the Human Rights Violators and War Crimes Center (HRVWCC or Center) in the Washington, DC area. Bringing together the expertise and authorities of multiple federal agencies, including HSI, FBI, ICE, USCIS, the Department of Justice, the Department of State, and the US Army Criminal Investigations Division, the Center is the US Government's focal point for investigating war crimes and human rights abuses, and holding perpetrators accountable. Mr. Frankowski immigrated to the US in the 1980s and speaks fluent Polish and functional Russian. He earned a Bachelor's of Arts in Political Science from Louisiana Tech, and from 2021 to 2022 he attended the Naval Postgraduate School, where he is completing his master’s thesis on the use of hate propaganda in mass atrocities.
