Lt. James Williams has been with the Metro Nashville Police Department for 17 years. In his current role, he oversees the Investigations Section of the Traffic Division which includes the Crash Investigation Units, Hit and Run Unit, and the School Crossing Guards Section. Lt. WIlliams is a SFST Instructor, DRE, and ACTAR accreddited crash reconstructionist. He recieved his undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky and a Master's degree from Northwestern University. Lt. Williams was selected as a National Institute of Justice LEADS Scholar in 2016. He is currently the Co-Chair of the IACP Police Reasearch Advancement Section and a member of the IACP Research Advisory Committee.
