Karen D. Rumsey received a master’s degree in social work from The University of Cincinnati. She is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervisor designation from the Ohio Social Worker/Marriage and Family Board. Ms. Rumsey has dedicated her working career to social services. Ms. Rumsey takes pride in advocating for others, and empowering others to advocate for themselves. Ms. Rumsey is employed by the Cincinnati Police Department as the Health Programs Manager Witness Advocacy. Ms. Rumsey sums up her role by saying,” We do all things victim related”. Ms. Rumsey was honored and named Social Worker of the Year at the National Association of Social Workers, Ohio Chapter, Region 6 Awards Ceremony in 2019. Ms. Rumsey was also humbled to be honored by the University of Cincinnati Social Work Alumni Board with the “Distinguished Alumni Award” in 2020.
