Oeindrila Dube is the Philip K. Pearson Professor at the University of Chicago, Harris School of Public Policy. Professor Dube's research focuses on understanding strategies for reducing crime and violence, and improving police community relationships. One strand of her work studies how cognitive demands in policing situations contribute to adverse policing outcomes; and how training officers to navigate these demands improve officer and community safety.
Dube's work has appeared in leading journals including Science, the Quarterly Journal of Economics, the Journal of Political Economy, the Review of Economic Studies, and the American Political Science Review. Dube received her PhD in Public Policy from Harvard University, her M Phil in Economics from Oxford University, and her BA in Public Policy from Stanford University. She was also the recipient of a Rhodes Scholarship in 2002.
