Henry Wang is currently the Director of the Risks Analytics at the New York Police Department (NYPD). He holds a Masters of Public Health in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. He is the first civilian to represent the NYPD as a NIJ - LEADS Scholar.
His career began at the Department of Health (DOHMH) where he revamped data collection tools and published a peer-reviewed and technical paperd on Childhood Asthma. Following this work, he was the Director of Evaluation for the Co-Response Teams, a joint initiative between the NYPD and the DOHMH. A program that paired police officers trained in crisis intervention with social workers to respond to individuals with mental health challenges. Utilizing incident data collected by the program, Henry developed machine-learning algorithm and revamped the case management system to support the deployment process.
In his current role, Henry has created tools that identifies risks to the NYPD. He has created products that provides real time metrics and analysis to executives and supervisors with actionable information around matters such as constitutional policing, civilian complaints, use of force and body worn camera utilization.
