Lacey has lived in Vermont over the last 15 years, originally moving to the Green Mountain State from Connecticut. She started her career in 2009, working with individuals with intellectual disablilities, as well as served on a crisis team for that population. In 2014, she transitioned into a position with the Burlington Police Department, as the only social worker for the City of Burlington. Over the course of the last 8 years, she transitioned into Community Affairs, and is now the supervisor of a team of social workers known as the Community Support Liaison Team. She was instrumental in the creation of the Crisis, Advocacy, Intervention Programs (CAIP) Unit within the Burlington Police Department. She spends her off time doing school work, spending time with her family, travelling throughout New England, and whenever possible, watching true crime television.
