Nick, a 36-year LE professional has worked in 2-major city police agencies: 5-years as chief of the Aurora (CO) Police Department, retiring December 2019. Nick spent 31-years with the Seattle Police, rising to the number-2 rank as Deputy Chief. Nick has long had a passion of caring for responders and their families through creating fulltime wellness units in both agencies. He was a member of Behind the Badge of WA LODD Response Team and member of the Colorado Fallen Hero's LODD Response Team. Graduate of the FBI National Academy, FBI Academy’s NEI, and SMIP. Professional affiliations include IACP, NOBLE, PERF, Major Cities Chiefs, etc. Nick continues to be an invited speaker throughout U.S. & Canada on issues relating to responder & family wellness. Nick recently received his MS in Military & Emergency Responder Counseling from Colorado State University-Global. Nick is COO for Code-4 Counseling in Colorado where he provides counseling services and crisis care to responders and families, provides training on topics involving peer support, leadership, & wellness, and provides wellness consult to responder agencies. Nick recently created the Its A Calling Foundation.
