Sergeant George Vit has served with the South Brunswick Police Department in New Jersey for 17 years. In addition to patrol and IT responsibilities, he has served on the department’s technology committee, budget committee, health and resiliency committee, and the National Night Out committee. Sgt Vit is a Field Training Officer, Conductive Energy Device Operator, and was the department’s first Drug Recognition Expert. He has implemented South Brunswick’s body worn camera program and numerous technology improvements that benefit the department. His current activities include the IACP LEIT Board Member, IACP CJIS Committee, IACP Technology Resource Guide, IJIS Law Enforcement Advisory Committee, IJIS Emergency Communications and Response Advisory Committee and organizing AFCEA’s annual Law Enforcement and Public Safety Conference. Sgt Vit has a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications Management and a MBA in Management of Technology from New Jersey Institute of Technology. Sgt Vit has advised technology companies serving the Federal, State, and Local law enforcement verticals. Sgt Vit is also a veteran of the U.S. Army.
