Dana Forney is the Criminal Intelligence Director at the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation. She manages a statewide team of analysts that serve as a force multiplier in investigations. BCI’s analysts deliver investigative assistance to law enforcement by providing subject research, digital evidence and geolocation analysis, open source intelligence, and comprehensive case support. Dana works to implement the latest intelligence and analysis practices and provides training to law enforcement in cold case intelligence and analyzing digital evidence.
Dana has worked with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation since 2007. Beginning her career in public policy, Dana coordinated Ohio’s sex offender management program and school safety initiative. She became a Criminal Intelligence Analyst in 2013 and assisted local law enforcement across the state with cases of homicide, rape, child abduction, missing persons and other serious felony offenses. She received a Bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University in Criminology and Physical Anthropology and has multiple professional certifications related to intelligence and analysis.
