Dr. Glenn Sterner is an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice at The Pennsylvania State University, Abington Campus. He serves as the coordinator of the Criminal Justice Research Center’s Greater Philadelphia Office for the University. As an expert on substance use issues, he is an appointed member of the Opioid Overdose Task Force for the State of Pennsylvania. He also serves on the Executive Board of the Regional Interdisciplinary Collaborative to Address Human Trafficking, a non-profit organization he helped to organize and found. His main research agenda is focused on understanding issues at the intersection of community safety and public health, specifically in the realms of substance use, human trafficking, and gambling issues. He coordinates initiatives that include work within Pennsylvania communities to evaluate substance use-related interventions, the examination of human trafficking networks online, opioid use networks research, hot spots of illicit substance availability, intelligence-based interventions in rural areas, and stigma associated with opioid and other substance use disorders.
