Dr. Shellie E. Solomon is the C.E.O. of Justice & Security Strategies, Inc. (JSS), a consulting firm that specializes in conducting research and evaluation related to criminal justice, children and youth violence, and public policy. Dr. Solomon currently serves as the executive project director for the BJA's Small, Rural and Tribal Body Worn Camera Policy and Implementation Program, funding over 400 agencies with micro-grants. She also is the research partner on the Miami PD Crime Gun Intellegence Center, the Bronx District Attorney's SMART Prosecution and on violence reduction projects. She has worked in over 50 law enforcement agencies across the United States.
Dr. Solomon is also the President of Children of Inmates, Inc. Children of Inmates, Inc. is a non-profit social service agency that transform the lives of children of inmates, enabling them to achieve happier, more productive lives. Prior to joining JSS, Dr. Solomon served Senior Policy Advisor at the U.S. Department of Justice. Dr. Solomon received her Ph.D. from the University of Maastricht, Netherlands, United Nations University - Maastricht Economic and Social Research Institute.
