Pietro “Piero” D’Ingillo is a licensed clinical, forensic and law enforcement psychologist. His early career work began in the late 1990s with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD). From 2004 until 2016, he attained extensive community based experience while working for the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health where his primary duty was responding to psychiatric crises while attached to the Los Angeles Police Department and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. In 2016 Dr. D’Ingillo re-joined LASD and participated in the development of the Crisis Intervention Training-360 (CIT360) where he functions as instructor. Since 2017 he has been corresponding with members of the Community Mental Health Department in Trieste, Italy, who are recognized by the World Health Organization as providing exemplary services based on human rights focused practices. Dr. D’Ingillo is an ongoing advisor to the psychological services section of La Polizia di Stato (Italian National Police Force) on police psychology related matters and in his private practice conducts Los Angeles Superior Court appointed mental health examinations.
