Karen Maline has been a project manager at the IACP since 2016 and manages activities funded by BJA's Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Use Program (COSSUP) TTA Initiative. She perviously managed IACP’s Safety and Justice Challenge initiative. Both projects aim to provide training and resources to law enforcement agencies and promote front-end diversion solutions that encourage collaboration with community based public health, treatment, and service providers to address justice-related challenges and quality of life issues faced by their communities. Ms. Maline is IACP’s liaison to, and serves on the Executive Council of the Police, Treatment, & Community Collaborative (PTACC), which provides vision, leadership, advocacy, and education on the practice of deflection and pre-arrest diversion across the United States. She also served on the ABA's Criminal Justice Task Force on Diversion. Before joining IACP, Ms. Maline worked for 28 years at the Justice Research & Statistics Association. She has a B.A. in history from the University of Florida and an M.S.in criminal justice from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.
