With a career in victim services spanning more than two decades, Saly Fayez curently serves as the Director of the Victim Services Division for the Fairfax County Police Department. Her responsibilities are multifaceted, encompassing both leadership and direct service provision. Saly oversees a team of fifteen victim specialists who provide system-based services across four police jurisdictions, offering a lifeline to those navigating the aftermath of traumatic events. Beyond direct services, Saly manages three grant programs which are a critical component of sustaining and expanding victim support initiatives. She has developed and implemented comprehensive training programs that elevate the standards of care for crime victims within the realms of law enforcement and the criminal justice system.Saly developed the departments Death Notification General Order, a critical protocol that ensures sensitive and empathetic communication with families who have lost loved ones. Her work has earned her the 2022 International Chief of Police's Leadership in Victim Services Award. Saly holds a Master of Arts in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh.
