Assistant Chief
Mesa Police Department, Arizona
Dan has worked for the Mesa Police Department for twenty-three years and is the Patrol Operations Bureau Assistant Chief. This bureau is the largest bureau in the department with well over five-hundred people and encompasses the Central, Fiesta, Red Mountain, Superstition Patrol Divisions, and the Mesa Gateway Airport.
During the last four years as an assistant chief, Dan led the following divisions: Human Resources, Wellness, Basic and Advanced Training, Financial Services, Community Relations, Holding, Research and Planning, Forensic Services, Technical Services, and Communications.
Dan has a Master of Administration degree from Northern Arizona University with an emphasis on leadership and is a graduate of the Major Cities Chiefs Associations Police Executive Leadership Institute (PELI), Police Executive Research Forum’s Senior Management Institute for Police (SMIP), and Northwestern University’s School of Command and Management. Dan also represents law enforcement nationally as a committee member for the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
