Matt Bloesch serves as the Operations Captain at the Fairfield, CA, Police Department. He has over 24 years of law enforcement experience, including assignments such as Field Training Officer, Violent Crime Suppression Unit, Quality Neighborhoods Team, Gang Unit, Motor Sergeant, and Crisis Negotiations Team Commander. His most rewarding assignment was the twelve years he spent as a coordinator and manager of his department’s Peer Support Team. Captain Bloesch began serving in that role when he began recovering from a very dark period of his life. He served in that position to give others who were suffering that there was hope and recovery is possible. Captain Bloesch also serves as a youth mentor at the Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS) Kids’ Camp and Young Adults’ Camp. He is married with two adult children, and enjoys running, mountain biking, and playing with his two dogs.
