Chief (Ret.)
Chief James Pierson (Ret) is a law enforcement veteran of over 34 years and served as Chief of Police from 2014 until his retirement in July of 2017. Starting his career as a patrolman in Texas at Henderson Police Department in 1989, he followed that with stints as patrol sergeant, detective, and patrol captain before being promoted to Deputy Chief of Police serving in that position until being named Chief of Police in 2014. He currently is actively commissioned through the Stae of Texas and is currently helping establish a new department in the Eastern Texas area.
Chief Pierson currently serves as Director of Training for Blauer Tactical Systems, Inc., and has traveled extensively delivering instructor level programs.
Pierson has served as the Texas Police Association Regional Training Director, working as an adjunct instructor for Tyler Junior College Police Academy. Pierson has served on multiple committees with TCOLE (Texas Commission on Law Enforcement), developing statewide courses over the past ten years. Pierson has served as an expert witness in use of force cases and police procedures, at both the State and Federal level in Texas, California, and Minnesota.
