Brigadier General, Police and National Security Attaché to North America

Brigadier General Dror Avda was appointed as the Police and National Security Ministry Attaché & Liaison Officer to the United States and Canada in August 2022. He was nominated by the Minister of Public Security.
In this capacity, Brigadier General Avda seeks to strengthen international relations with the United States and Canada.
Prior to being appointed, BG Avda was the Commander of the Major Crime Units “Merkaz” (Central) within INP – Israel National Police. Before that, he commanded the “Shai” district. These units are an investigation and intelligence unit which specialize dealing with serious crimes such as drug trafficking, murder, criminal organizations and hate crimes.
Previously, Avda commanded Israel's National Counter Terror Unit (I.N.C.T.U.) and served in the Israeli Centralized Special Unit (YAMAM)
Brigadier General Avda holds a bachelor’s degree in Middle East studies and master's degree in legal studies.
