Dr Barbara Pavlo is a Police Psychologist with the Los Angeles Police Department, for the past 18 years. She consults with various LAPD departmental divisons regarding workgroup consultation, leadership development, training, and related matters. She advises commanding officers regarding personnel issues, strategic planing, and assits with emergency situations as they occur.
Dr Pavlo received her bachelor's degree in Psychology from Brooklyn College in Brooklyn New York, her Masters degree from Pepperdine University in Los Angeles California, and her doctorate in Psychology from Ryokan College in Los Angeles California. She is POST certified to teach Critical Incident Stress Debriefing, Suicide Prevention, Suicide by Cop, Crisis Negotiation, and Coping with Stress, Wellness, among others. Dr. Pavlo regularly provides therapy and training throughout the department, including the LAPD Academy. Dr. Pavlo is a SWAT crisis negotiation team member, who rotates on call responsibilties.
Dr. Pavlo is the co-author of the book The Blue Morale Project, and has trained and continues to train Law Enforcement Personnel on the key principles of building morale.
