Courtney M. Scott is a social impact strategist who has brought her personal experiences to municipal government as a catalyst for community-based solutions led and informed by residents.
In 2018 she joined Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome’s administration to implement the Mayor’s vision to create a SAFE, HOPEFUL, HEALTHY BR. Through this initiative Scott works as the City Lead to bridge between the local government officials tasked with reducing violence, other city departments/offices, law enforcement agencies, and the community. Her day-to-day includes convening partners, coordinating big-picture strategies, and facilitating developing, and implementing Baton Rouge's comprehensive public safety plan.
In the last 2 years, Baton Rouge has seen a 23% decrease from 2022 to 2023, and mobilized over 250 organizations to collaboratively work as a community violence ecosystem navigating solutions to prevent, intervene, and eradicate gun violence.
