African-American Advisory Council
Seattle, Washington, United States
Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, Victoria Beach is descended from four generations of citizens living and working in the Central District, a historically African American Community.
In both her professional and volunteer experiences, Victoria aspires to bridge the gap between elected officials, law enforcement, city government and the community, promoting and facilitating opportunities for inclusivity, equity and diversity among stakeholders and neighbors.
Her professional experience includes facilitating youth support initiatives, providing deescalation and intervention to youth in crisis, and developing a girls’ empowerment group. She currently serves as a Liaison for the Seattle Police Department’s innovative Before the Badge program, which is designed to provide pre-academy police recruits with foundational knowledge, skills and relationships to succeed as partners in the community they serve. The Before the Badge program explores deep rooted perceptions and reflection of social and cultural issues and supports recruits succeeding as future officers.
