William served 27 years with the Sausalito (CA) Police Department holding positions from Reserve Officer to Acting Chief of Police. Along with extensive administrative, patrol and investigative experience, he held diverse assignments such as Marine Patrol Unit Supervisor, Emergency Services Manager, Public Information Officer, and a member of the Golden Gate Bridge’s Security Colalition. William is the recipient of the the U.S.C.G’s Meritorious Public Safety Award and several other departmental awards and commendations. A graduate of the 269th session of the FBI's National Academy he also holds a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice specializing in Law Enforcement Management and Terrorism/Homeland Security. William is the author of the book Leadership in Law Enforcement: 10 Key Traits and What Law Enforcement Agencies Can Do To Develop These In Future Leaders and instructs on the leadership and management challenges facing small law enforcement agencies for the FBI’s Rocky Mountain Command College. William’s father, deceased uncle, and wife all served with the Sausalito Police Department and have over 112 years of total law enforcement experience.
