Detective Sergeant Larry Adair is a 33-year veteran of the San Diego Police Department. He has held several positions in patrol, including Field Training Officer, Cadet Advisor, Evidence Technician, and was an instructor in the Drug Recognition Expert program. He spent 16 years as a K9 handler and was a trainer for narcotics and article detection. His duties have earned him several formal commendations, including Officer of the Shift, the Exceptional Performance Citation, and a Medal for Valor. He has worked as a Detective Sergeant in SDPD’s Internal Affairs Unit and is currently assigned to the Professional Standards Unit, tasked with investigating allegations of criminal conduct on the part of Department members.
