Scott joined the Vancouver Police Department (the Canadian one) in 2006, spending a total of eight years working in Patrol, followed by four years as a detective then supervisor in the Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Unit, and 18 months in the Professional Standards Section. Since 2012, Scott has been a senior member of the ERS Crisis Negotiator Team and continues to serve as a Negotiator Liaison Officer during critical incidents.
Scott was promoted to Staff Sergeant in 2022 and transferred to work in the new 24/7 Operations Command Centre (OCC), where he currently leads one of four teams.
Outside of work, Scott is an avid runner and also kept on his toes by his wife and two young daughters...however maintains where possible a keenness on travel and reading. Finally, Scott proudly serves as annual VPD Team Coordinator for the challenging annual Four Days Marches in Europe - where World War VPD gravesites are also commemorated.
