Detective Paul Sipe has been a Mesa Police officer for more than 29 years. He has worked a variety of assignments including Patrol, Community Action Team, Organized Crime Detective conucting wiretap investigations, Assistant Police Chief Adjutant, and for the last ten years as a Homicide Detective.
In Homicide, Detective Sipe has investigated all manner of death and has responsibility for investigating Officer Involved Shootings. Through this assignment, he has attended more than 600 hours of training and education in human factors as it relates to police use of force. Detective Sipe has written expert reports for the Maricopa County Attorney's Office in police shooting investigations and also utlizes this knowledge in his own officer involved shooting investigations.
Detective Sipe has a Masters degree from Arizona State University in Forensic Psychology and is in the final stages of a PhD program in Human Systems Engineering, also at Arizona State University.
