Jerry Monier is a thirty year law enforcement, emergency management and homeland security professional with experience at the local, state, and federal levels of government. Monier’s professional experiences in these fields supports the development of comprehensive homeland security and emergency management plans, training programs, and program evaluation within the public and private sectors. In his current role, he provides strategic direction for the development of US Department of Homeland Security certified training courses and other endeavors undertaken by Louisiana State University’s National Center for Biomedical Research and Training’s Research and Development Division. Monier recently created a Homeland Security Specialist micro-certification suite of five courses hosted by LSU Online and Continuing Education. Monier also serves as a sworn Reserve Deputy with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office in Gonzales, Louisiana. Monier currently serves as a member the International Association of Chiefs of Police Education and Training Committee. He also serves as an advisor to several committees of the National Sheriff’s Association.
