Jamey VanVliet is currently an Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC) with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) in the Dallas Field Division and has served in this capacity since October 2020. ASAC VanVliet joined ATF in 2002 working in the Alcohol and Labeling Formulation Division in ATF Headquarters. In September 2003, ASAC VanVliet began his career as a Special Agent in the Long Beach Field Office of the Los Angeles Field Division. ASAC VanVliet transferred to the Miami Field Division in 2005, where he was promoted to Group Supervisor in 2013. In 2017, ASAC VanVliet transferred to the Firearms Operations Division (FOD), Audit and Training Branch, promoting in 2018 to Deputy Chief, FOD. There he oversaw the national crime gun intelligence and NIBIN programs.
A native of Milton, New York, Jamey attended Yale University and earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering in 2001.
