Kim Bogucki (Ret.)– Seattle Police Department
Retired Detective Kim Bogucki served 34.5-years at the Seattle Police Department. Kim has developed internationally replicated programs that create dialogue around issues of social justice and relational policing. Kim is one of the creators of Seattle Police Departments “Before the Badge Program” that focuses on recruits developing 2 pillars that often do not exist in policing – community, wellness and relational policing. These pillars are integral in creating a solid foundation that they can carry throughout their career. Kim is also the co-founder of The IF Project, an innovative partnership between law enforcement, currently and previously incarcerated adults, and community leaders to educate, build commonality, reduce misperceptions and serve as a deterrent to recidivism and future incarceration.
Kim has received numerous awards for her work, and she is an international speaker on Relational Policing and Social Justice Reform.
Currently, she returned to Seattle Police as a Strategic Advisor and is also a Fellow at NYUs Marron Institute for Urban Development.
