Armando Sanders began his law enforcement career in 2003 with the Montgomery Police Department. In 2010, he was promoted to Sergeant, and in 2012 he was promoted to Deputy Chief.
He is an adjunct professor for the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command where he teaches around the country. He teaches on topics such as Problem Employee, Training, Grant Writing, and Police and Politics.
Prior to his career in law enforcement, he was a business professional in the corporate world which has helped him in his current administrative role.
He has a BA degree in Business Management (Spanish minor) from North Central College and a Master's Degree in Business Administration (with a concentration in Leadership) from Aurora University, both in Illinois.
In 2014, he completed the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command, where he served as class president, and the Executive Management Program.
He graduated in March, 2018 from the FBI National Academy Program at Quantico, Virginia.
He was a presenter at the 2022 IACP Annual Conference (Dallas, TX) and the 2020 (Online Simulive IACP Workshop) for Preparing for Politics in the Police Environment.
