Professor Rob Orr served in the Australian Army for over 23 years as an infantry soldier, Physical Training Instructor, uniformed physiotherapist, and human performance officer. Still serving in the Army Reserve, Dr Orr teaches into Bond University’s Doctor of Physiotherapy Program and supervises higher degree research students doing research in tactical populations. As Director of the Tactical Research Unit, Dr Orr provides research, consultancy, and educational services for law enforcement, military, firefighter, and corrective services agencies across five continents. Rob’s interests span initial training through to specialist selection and training, with a passion for tactical load carriage. With over 250 published research papers and technical reports in tactical populations, Dr Orr’s focus is on providing pragmatic research evidence to the tactical community. In 2022, Professor Orr was awarded the NSCA TSAC Professional of the year, the Queensland Young Tall Poppy Science Award, and an Australian Award for University Teaching.
