Terrence Gordon is the chief of police in Thornton, CO, a growing city in the Denver Metropolitan Area. He began his law enforcement career in Milwaukee, WI, where he served proudly and rose to the rank of assistant chief. He has had leadership roles in all aspects of policing, including patrol, investigations, administration, and training. He is an accomplished presenter and a leadership trainer for the IACP, having trained leaders in 10 states, Washington DC, and Canada. Chief Gordon has trained and personally mentored successful leaders across the country and has assisted the federal government in providing training concepts and policy guidance internationally. He is a graduate of the Police Executive Research Forum’s Senor Management Institute for Police, the IACP’s Leadership in Police Organizations course, and is committed to continuously enhancing the police profession through research, training, and focusing the tremendous dedication of the people serving in agencies nationwide. Chief Gordon has a bachelor’s degree in business and public administration, a master’s degree in criminal justice, and is completing a Ph.D. in Business Psychology.
