Ms. Marie Louise E. Engracial is presently the Deputy Chief of the Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism and Terrorism Center of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in the Philippines. She leads the implementation of the Philippine National Action Plan on Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism and the Anti-Terrorism Act in the agency through effective research, development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of peacebuilding, P/CVE and counterterrorism programs in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. She works closely with national and international agencies and partners to further synergize the counterterrorism efforts of the country and serves as technical officer in various national and international level consultations and workshops on P/CVE and counterterrorism. She joined the BJMP in 2010 as Research and Development Officer (2010-2016) and was designated as the Human Resource Management Officer of the agency in 2016 (2016-2021). She was formerly connected with the City Government of Davao and the UM Broadcasting Network while studying and completing her law school in Mindanao, Philippines.
