Lieutenant
Utah Highway Patrol
In my 11 years with the Utah Highway Patrol, I saw the toll this profession has on officers and their families. A career that can bring a great level of fulfillment can also into a job and retirement into dread. I want to ensure that officers not only enjoy their careers but also their retirement. I will be the first to admit, it's ok to not be ok and we all need help!
I joined this profession after a 20-year job in the automotive industry but I have enjoyed this career more. I enjoyed time on the road, time on a DUI squad, conducted interdiction and major crimes investigations as an agent and a Sgt with our investigations bureau, was the Lt over our college section, and am currently one of two Lts supervising our Salt Lake field office. Additionally, I supervise our Motors Squad. One of the best parts of my career is being part of our peer support team and watching it grow into the support system that it is today.
My educational background includes an MS in Public Administration, from Southern Utah University, a BS in Emergency Services, from Utah Valley University, and a BA in Korean, with minors in Business and International Relations, from Brigham Young University.
